Family Day winter fun... let the Searchmont Winter Games begin!

SAULT STE. MARIE - To celebrate 2014 as a winter OIympic/Paralympic year, Searchmont Resort will host the Searchmont Winter Games on Family Day Monday, February 17.

There will be 'snow' much winter fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Learn to ski or snowboard and take advantage of Searchmont’s Discover Skiing or Snowboarding Family Day Special:

• Discover Adult $61+HST
• Discover Youth (11-17) $45+HST
• Discover Junior (10 and under) $25+HST

The above price includes a Learning Centre lift ticket, unlimited group instruction from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. and ski or snowboard rental equipment.

Pre-registration is required at least 24 hours in advance to guarantee rental equipment.

Take part in the Searchmont Winter Games, an assortment of free indoor and outdoor winter sports themed activities.

The opening ceremonies begin inside the main lodge at 9:45 a.m.

Sign a good luck banner for para-alpine skiers Mac and BJ Marcoux who will represent Canada at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in March.

The No Limits Adaptive Ski Association will provide sit ski rides (by donation) for adults or kids that have a disability or are interested in the program.

A BBQ hosted by the No Limits Adaptive Ski Association, face painting, live music, bannock by the outdoor fire and crafts round out the Family Day fun.

Searchmont’s slopes will be open during the following times over Family Day:

• Monday, February 17 - 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
