You're invited to explore the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site this Saturday — for free — as part of International Museum Day.

The site will be open for walk-throughs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“International Museum Day is a day dedicated to celebrating the vital role museums play in preserving heritage and culture and enriching communities. Our site invites everyone to immerse themselves in history, and enjoy a day filled with activities,” says Kathy Fisher, Curator in a news release issued today.

Throughout the day visitors can participate in a variety of activities including:

  • Designing a patch for the community quilt (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Learning about quilting from local experts (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • Thinking Rock Community Arts (12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
  • Viewing artifacts from the attic and new exhibits throughout the buildings

These experiences are part of Museum Month celebrated worldwide in May. For more information about the event and exhibits, visit saultstemarie.ca/ecnhs or call 705-759-5443.
