************************* Sault Ste. Marie invites development proposals

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - The City of Sault Ste. Marie is inviting investors to explore a significant development opportunity on a 14-acre waterfront site in the downtown core.

This new development will act as the westerly anchor to the existing 1.7-mile (2.8 km), $20-million waterfront walkway.

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario is a beautiful waterfront community located on the Canada—US border.

Over the past several years the city has experienced unprecedented growth.

Recent investments in the community total more than $1.8-billion.

The successful development proposal will incorporate a themed tourist destination complementing the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s Casino Sault Ste. Marie, the International Bridge, CN’s Algoma Central Railway and the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Museum.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) has committed a maximum of $15-million to this exciting development project based on an estimated project cost of $50-million.

The NOHFC’s mandate is to foster job creation and strengthen the economies of northern communities. Requests for qualification will be accepted by the City of Sault Ste. Marie until April 30, 2008.
