Look out for big guy in red suit

Santa Claus is coming to Sault Ste. Marie, and he’s only a week away!

Help thousands of Saultites welcome Saint Nick as he takes part in the Rotary Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. The parade will begin at Pim Street, continue on Queen Street East, and end at Gore Street.

Parade Marshal and Sleigh Traffic Controller David K. Marshall spoke with Santa Claus directly earlier this week and he said that, “the Soo is one of [his] favourite places to visit before Christmas.”

Marshal Marshall added, “Santa has been talking with the authorities and promises clear, cool weather for the parade. He looks forward to seeing all the boys and girls from Sault Ste. Marie and area along the parade route.”

Ensuring that all children have a happy holiday is Mr. and Mrs. Claus’ top concern, so the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma Autism Foundation have arranged a sensory-friendly block between Bruce Street and Dennis Street where there will be no honking, air horns, or sirens if entrants want to stay on the “nice” list.

For more information please contact our local North Pole Ambassador at the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie at 705-945-1279.
