Erratic driving nets youth multiple charges

****************************** Erratic driving complaint leads to stolen vehicle

ELLIOT LAKE - On September 13 at approximately 2 a.m. police received a complaint of youths erratically driving at the snow dump area at Colwill Drive.

Police attended the area and located a vehicle on its’ roof down an embankment.

The area was searched and no one was located.

Police continued their search and located the three subjects.

Through investigation, police also learned that the vehicle had been stolen.

All three subjects were arrested and charged.

One 15-year-old male was charged with mischief over $5,000.

One 17-year-old male was charged with theft over $5,000 and mischief over $5,000.

The above youth are scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake Youth Court on November 2.

Also charged is a 15-year-old male with the following:

- Possession of property obtained by crime

- Mischief over $5,000 (X2)

- Fail to comply (X2)

- Arson

- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

The youth remains in custody.
