Thousands of Hydro One customers in the Thessalon and Blind River areas and other parts of East Algoma are without power tonight.
The electricity distributor reports that the major outage started around 8:54 p.m. as a result of a switch replacement.
Power should be restored to some customers around midnight, to others a little after 2 a.m.
