Twenty-three-year-old Matthew Hermes of 146 McQueen Road was arrested on the 8th of May at 7:37 a.m. at his residence and charged with one count of robbery, one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, one count of breach or probation and one count of breach of a recognizance order.

It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a robbery incident that took place on the 21st of April when he attended with another male, to a downtown apartment complex and stole a ring from a male in the parking lot area.

The victim was showing a ring he had for sale to the accused and the second male while they were inside a vehicle in the parking lot.

When the accused reached inside to get the ring back, the males rolled the window up with the victim’s arm still inside and the vehicle started to accelerate away which resulted with the victim being dragged by the car for approximately 100 yards.

The males fled from the area in the vehicle.

The victim suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries as a result of being dragged by the vehicle.
