Dude refused service. Takes it out on window

***************************** CHAPLEAU - On June 2 at 1:18 a.m., Superior East OPP in Chapleau received a complaint from staff at the Royal Canadian Legion on Young Street that a male subject had broken a window.

It was learned that the bartender had refused service to a subject and as the patron left the legion he was observed smashing a window in the front entrance door.

As a result of this incident, Nathan Sarazin, age 23 of Chapleau, stands charged with the Criminal Code offence of mischief under $5000 and he will appear at Chapleau criminal court on August 18.

***************************** Sixth annual Kidz Summer Safety Festival

SAULT STE. MARIE - This release is to advise the media and public that the Sault Ste. Marie Safe Communities Partnership is hosting the sixth annual Kidz Summer Safety Festival on Sunday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion.

There are 20 different organizations involved that are offering fun, safety and injury prevention activities for children age 2-13 years.

One of the most popular activities is a bike rodeo sponsored by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police.

Kids are encouraged to bring their bike and helmet and test their bike riding skills.

The children will also be able to register their bikes with the police on site.

Other fun activities include, a fire truck display by Sault Ste Marie Fire Services, safety activities and displays sponsored by the Algoma Public Health, safety spy sponsored by Kids Hope, Steelworkers Inflatable Park, ATV and helmet safety sponsored by River City Sports, boating safety by Transport Canada, child fingerprinting by Child Find Ontario, black bear awareness by Ministry of Natural Resources and many more!

Door Prize draws, including bicycles sponsored by Tim Horton’s and Walmart will take place at 2:30 p.m.

There will be a vendor barbecue concession on site sponsored by Risk Watch.

Admission to the event is free.
