************************* Domestic-related arrest

A 24-year-old male was arrested on the 23rd of June at 1:34 a.m. at an East End residence and was charged with nine counts of possession of a firearm, weapon or ammunition while prohibited, one count of careless use of a firearm, weapon or ammunition, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon, one count of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, one count of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm or ammunition and three counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 23rd of June around 1:34 a.m., City Police received information that the accused was at the residence of his girlfriend when he was on release conditions not to, due to a previous domestic-related assault incident.

Police attended and located him hiding under a bed and arrested him.

It is further alleged that when officers attended at his residence earlier, they located a firearm, magazine for a firearm and ammunition in his bedroom.

The accused is on five separate weapon prohibitions, prohibiting him from possessing a firearm and ammunition.

The gun was unregistered and had no trigger locks on it. The accused appeared in bail court yesterday.

************************* Break and enters

- Two sheds were reported broken into yesterday, one in the 600 block of Connaught Avenue and one in the 200 block of Old Goulais Bay Road. Gas and a generator were reported stolen.

************************* Thefts

- Three bicycles were reported stolen from properties on Glenholme Avenue, Frontenac Street and McDougald Street. - Vehicles were entered on Fairmount Drive and Prentice Avenue. A camera, a GPS and a purse were reported stolen.

************************* Mischief reports

- Vehicles and residence windows were egged on Ellis Road, Peach Drive and Breton Road.

- A firecracker was set off in a mailbox on Second Avenue, damaging it as a result.
