************************* Criminal harassment

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 58-year-old Ivan Mackenzie of 17 River Road Heyden, Ontario on the 19th of July at his residence and charged him with one count of criminal harassment.

It is alleged that on the 18th of July the accused left an obscene message on the answering machine of a person known to him.

The accused had been previously warned about harassing the victim in the past.

He is to appear in court on the 22nd of August.

************************* Stolen credit card

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20-year-old Matthew Lewis of no fixed address (main floor) at a downtown residence last evening on several outstanding warrants in relation to a number of incidents.

He was charged with two counts of failing to appear in court, one count of breach of a release document, three counts of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property, one count of possession or use of a stolen credit card and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.

************************* Assault with weapon

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 56-year-old female yesterday afternoon and charged her with three counts of assault and one count of assault with a weapon.

It is alleged that on the 18th and 19th of July the accused assaulted her husband by kicking him and punching him several times during domestic disputes at their residence.

It is further alleged that the accused struck the victim with an umbrella.

The victim received non-life-threatening injuries as a result.
