************************* Possession of stolen property
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 41-year-old Nicolo Sardo of 167 Tancred Street on the 31st of March at 2 p.m. and charged him with one count of possession of property obtained by crime.
It is alleged that on the 30th of March the accused attended at a local pawn shop and pawned a Bosch reciprocal saw, a Dewalt jigsaw and a Makita circular saw that had been reported stolen from a vehicle break-in on the 27th of December 2010.
The accused is to attend in court on the 9th of May.
************************* Domestic-related arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 32-year-old female at 12:50 p.m. on the 31st of March and charged her with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault casing bodily harm.
It is alleged that on the 30th of March, the accused attended at the residence of her ex-boyfriend, got into a verbal argument with him, assaulted him and threw an aerosol can at his face.
The victim received non-life-threatening injuries as a result.
The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
************************* Outstanding warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32-year-old Jacquilynne Gray of 24 Rupert Acres on the 31st of March at 3:05 p.m. at a downtown residence and charged her with one count of failing to appear in court.
She is appearing in bail court this morning.
************************* Shoplifter arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 59-year-old Carolen Lacko of #2-628 Albert Street West on the 31st of March at 1:45 p.m. at Wal-Mart and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000.
It is alleged that she attended at the store on that date and stole a number of items.
She was apprehended by store security and held for police.
She is to appear in court on the 2nd of May.
************************ Break and enters
An apartment in the 500 block of Albert Street West was entered sometime between the 30th of March after 4:30 p.m. and the 31st at 1:45 p.m.
A 32-inch Toshiba television, a Toshiba laptop and some food was reported stolen.
************************ Thefts
- A quantity of metal pipe and wire was reported stolen from a business property on Goulais Avenue.
- An attempted theft of a vehicle from a driveway of a residence on Blake Street was reported overnight.
