TV6 is reporting this morning that Alger and Schoolcraft County Probate Judge Charles Nebel spent part of his weekend in jail after Michigan State Police from Newberry clocked him barreling through Luce County at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour.

"I made a series of bad and inappropriate decisions and I accept full responsibility for those decisions and will address this matter in a straightforward manner," the judge said in a statement to the television station. "There's no justification for my behavior and I am prepared to face the consequences of my actions."

Police caught up with Judge Nebel in Schoolcraft County.

His blood alcohol concentration was over .08, the legal limit for drinking and driving.
