WIKWEMIKONG TRIBAL POLICE SERVICE

************************* On Monday May 11, members of the Wikwemikong Tribal Police along with members of the OPP Drug Enforcement Section Sudbury and the UCCM Police Service executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act warrant at a local residence in Wikwemikong, Ontario.

As a result of conducting the search at this residence police seized cannabis marijuana, offence-related property and an unsafely stored firearm.

Adolphus John Cooper, 59 years of age, is charged with: - Possession of a firearm without being the holder of a registration certificate (one count).

- Careless storage of a firearm (one count).

- Possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance (one count).

Heather Kay Peltier, 32 years of age, is charged with: - Possession of a firearm without being the holder of a registration certificate (one count).

- Careless storage of a firearm (one count).

- Possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance (one count).

This investigation is part of an ongoing initiative by members of the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service, OPP Drug Enforcement Section Sudbury to address the increase in crime and drug related activity.
