************************* Drug warrant executed

BLIND RIVER, ON - On Friday, February 27, 2009, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit and East Algoma Detachment executed a warrant issued under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act on a Blind River residence.

Officers had received information regarding drug trafficking and conducted further investigation to obtain the warrant.

On Friday evening the warrant was executed and a quantity of drugs were seized along with equipment consistent with the trafficking and distribution of drugs.

Drugs seized were: 28 g of cocaine, 170 g marijuana, 25 oxycocet tablets, 215 morphine tablets.

The value of these items is estimated at $8,800.

Charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking is: 58-year-old Raymond George Berry of Blind River, ON.

Berry is to appear in court in Blind River on May 7, 2009.
