************************* MALE ARRESTED ON DRUG OFFENCE
VANKOUGHNET TWP, ON – On December 6 at approximately 4:44 p.m. on Highway 17 in Vankoughnet Township, a Ford pickup truck was pulled over by an OPP officer for a routine traffic stop.
Upon speaking with the driver, the officer noted a strong odour of cannabis marijuana coming from inside the cab of the pickup truck.
Further investigation revealed a total of 102 grams of a substance believed to be cannabis marijuana with a potential street value of $2,040.
49-year-old Scott Charles Robertson of Martinwood Way, Calgary, Alberta was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug and substance.
The accused was released on a promise to appear for court on 17 January.
************************* OPP fill the cruiser event
ELLIOT LAKE, ON – With the holiday season just beginning, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police in Elliot Lake is once again assisting the local radio station Moose FM with the Stuff a Cruiser with Toys event on Friday, December 10.
The event is being conducted to assist the local Salvation Army for the upcoming Christmas season.
OPP members will have a cruiser at 144 Ontario Avenue between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
We are hopeful that we will be able to fill the cruiser with toys and teddy bears.
Monetary donations will also be accepted.
