Drug bust in Echo Bay

************************** Drug warrant executed in Echo Bay

ECHO BAY – At 12:30 p.m. today, the OPP organized crime enforcement bureau – drug enforcement unit, assisted by Sault Ste. Marie detachment members and a North East Region OPP canine officer, executed a search warrant at 26 Lake Street in Echo Bay.

Jointly charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking for greater than 30 grams of suspected marijuana contrary to section 5(2), possession of cocaine and possession of cannabis resin contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act, possession of a prohibited weapon (nunchaku sticks) and possession of property obtained by crime of a value less than $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, are Tasha Marie Hall age 36 and Jonathan Ferguson age 21 of 26 Lake St Echo Bay.

These suspects will appear in Sault Ste. Marie provincial court on 31 May 2010.
