************************* Two males arrested as result of drug search warrant at residence on Albert Street
On the 18th of December 2008, at approximately 4:50 p.m., members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service street team, canine unit, and the emergency services unit executed a search warrant at 566 Albert Street West, upstairs apartment.
During the course of the search, officers located various prescription medications, two syringes of a liquid believed to be morphine and approximately one gram of cannabis marijuana.
Further, a knife that opened with centrifugal force was located in the possession of one of the males.
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $500.
As a result of the investigation, 51-year-old James Gilbert of 566 Albert Street West - upstairs apartment and 21-year-old Jacob Gilbert of the same address were both arrested.
James Gilbert was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possessing a controlled substance.
The accused Jacob Gilbert was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of breach of probation and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.
He is to appear in court on the 26th of January, 2009.
