Driver in fatal Spragge crash identified

************************* SPRAGGE, ON - Police are still investigating the fatal collision that occurred earlier today on Highway 17 in Spragge where a 1995 GMC pick up truck collided with a fully loaded tractor-trailer.

Police have learned that the driver of the pickup was reversing out of a private driveway when he entered into the path of the westbound tractor-trailer and was struck on the passenger side.

The driver of the pickup succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Deceased is 74-year-old Gerald Shea of Spragge.

The pick uptruck was destroyed in the collision while the transport suffered severe damage without upsetting its load of general supplies.

Two Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) from the OPP are on the scene conducting their investigation.

No charges have been laid.

Currently the road remains down to one lane with very little delay before you are able to proceed.
