Driver charged after crash at Pine & Wellington

Yesterday morning, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call to attend at the intersection of Pine Street and Wellington Street East regarding a motor vehicle collision.

As a result of police investigation it was learned that a vehicle traveling west on Wellington Street East disobeyed the red traffic signal.

The driver of this vehicle, Henry Robinson, age 63 of 328 Frontenac Street, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to stop for a red light.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
