St. Vincent Place will be holding weekly drive-thru food drives this summer.

The drives, which will run throughout July and August, are being held to help continue meeting the facility's needs.

The first drive thru will be on July 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will continue to run every Tuesday through the end of August.

To drop off items, pull up to the main doors and a staff member will come out to collect donations.

In May, the number of people accessing St. Vincent Place services was a record 526 people, a record that had previously been set in March.

From January to June this year, St. Vincent Place has helped 2,941 people from 1,701 families, an increase over last year’s numbers of 20 per cent and 15 per cent respectively.

The number of food donations coming in has dropped off significantly, which isn't uncommon at this time of year.
