The local oncologist and tireless fundraiser for the new Sault Area Hospital was speaking today at the launch of the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada's Giant Colon exhibit at the Sault Ste. Marie Armoury.

The local musical ensemble The Comedics, comprised of local health care professionals, also performed at the event. Dr. Walde talked candidly about the disease and some personal experiences that occurred about one year ago.

He tells SooToday.com that his personal health is fine.
