CITY POLICE
NEWS RELEASE
**************************** The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has received several complaints over the past few days involving motorists not obeying road closures set up by the Board of Works at construction sites in the City.
In one instance a vehicle not only disobeyed a road closure sign and barricade, but also drove over a pylon to access the road.
This kind of driving behaviour is not only unsafe for the motorist but also endangers the safety of the Board of Works Staff.
Drivers, who are found not obeying road closure signs thus jeopardizing the safety of road construction workers, could face charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Traffic Bylaws of the City of Sault Ste Marie.
