Domestic disturbance call leads to arrest in Wawa

32-year-old charged with assault; police not naming accused in order to protect victim's identity

A Wawa resident was arrested early yesterday morning after Superior East OPP responded to a reported domestic disturbance on Mackey Street in Wawa.

As a result of this investigation, the 32-year-old accused is scheduled to appear in court in September to face charges of:
    •    assault - spousal
    •    mischief - domestic

“Due to the domestic nature of the incident, the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim,” says a news release issued by OPP.
