Dog dispute leads to assault police charge

CITY POLICE NEWS RELEASE ************************* On April 17, 2013 at approximately 12:40 am, police attended at an address on Moss Rd regarding a dispute over the purchase of a dog.

On April 17, 2013 at approximately 12:40 am, police attended at an address on Moss Rd regarding a dispute over the purchase of a dog. 

When the person buying the dog was asked to leave the residence she refused to do so. 

When police attempted to escort her from the residence she struck one of the officers on the head with a cane she had. 

39-year-old Melissa Elliott of 485 Wellington Street is charged with one count of assault police and will be appearing in court on May 27.
