*********************** Body of missing kayaker located

(Wawa, Ontario) - Shortly after 12 noon on the 19th of July, 2006 divers from the Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Rescue unit recovered the body of missing kayaker 76-year-old Herbert Pohl.

Pohl's kayak was located in Lake Superior near the Michipicoten River on Monday July 17.

Various agencies as well as locals in the area have been searching the area since Monday when his kayak was found and he failed to show up at his rendezvous point. The body was located in approximately 20 feet of water near where his kayak was found.

Pohl was not wearing a lifejacket.

No foul play is suspected.
