Ditched tanker truck closes Carpin Beach Rd

The following notice was issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 12:55 a.m. on Friday.

************************* Please be aware that all traffic east and west from Carpin Beach Road on Base Line and north and south on Carpin Beach Road from Base Line will be diverted due to a tanker truck off the road. The tanker is carrying medical-grade oxygen. There will be no traffic allowed to move until the gas has been transfered to another tanker. There are no gas leaks and the tanker load is stable.

The transfer process is expected to be completed overnight and the tanker removed from the ditch. *************************
