************************* Sault College prepares for new students
SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (January 12, 2009) - With the start of term Monday, January 12, Sault College also welcomes more than 100 new first-year students.
New first-year classes are now filled in the areas of aircraft structural repair, mechanical engineering technician - manufacturing and mechanical techniques - industrial maintenance, and personal support worker programs.
“The January Start option accommodates the needs of the local community and is part of Sault College’s response to the provincial government’s Second Career program,” says Leo Tiberi, vice president academic, Sault College.
“We are offering this community more access to post-secondary studies by starting programs in the winter term. This access, with the supports of the Second Career program, makes studying an affordable, viable option right now. Students can begin their path towards a more secure future – and what better time than now to get started.”
Opportunities are still available for students to begin studies now instead of waiting until next September.
The registrar’s office will accept new students starting this term until January 21 in areas of business, police foundations, health office administration support and general arts and science – one year.
