*************************** WRIGHT, DERRICK JOHN – My darling husband of 63 years passed away at the Plummer Hospital on Saturday, February 27, 2010.

Derrick was born in Barking, Essex, England on July 5, 1924.

We were married on June 22, 1946.

Derrick was predeceased by his only and beloved daughter Debra Joy on February 8, 1976 at the age of 16, his parents Florence (Jackson) and Cornelius Wright, his loving sister, Doris on August 18, 1937 also at the age of 16.

He is survived by his adored wife Doris, his sister Margery Barnard and her children Jacqueline, Glynis, Keith and their children.

Derrick will be truly missed by his adopted son-in-law David Brister and his lovely wife Teresa and their children Joshua, Brittany and Noah and his pal Dakota all of Windsor, ON, and by his very dear friends Ken and Joan Spahr and Tyler and Cody, and of course by Max in Sault Ste. Marie.

His friends in Batchawana Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Windsor will never forget dear gentle Derrick.

All his friends in Chandler, Arizona especially the Motley Crew will miss the “Guv”.

Derrick was a veteran of World War II in London, England, and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25, Sault Ste. Marie and the American Legion - Post 55, Sun Lakes, Arizona, U.S.A.

At Derrick’s request there will be no visitation nor funeral service.

Cremation to follow.

Please donate, if you so desire, to the Humane Society or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25, Sault Ste. Marie, ON in Derrick’s memory.
