Ministry of Natural Resources staff have tranquilized a full-sized deer that crashed today through a window into a basement meeting room at Sault Area Hospital.

At time of writing (11:14 a.m.) they were waiting for the confused creature to fall off to sleep before removing it.

Hospital spokesperson Rose Calibani tells SooToday.com that the meeting room in the Plummer Hospital was unoccupied with its door closed when the animal made its noisy entrance around 10 a.m.

The animal is bleeding from glass cuts and the room will require sanitizing later today, Calibani said.

The room is on the east side of the Plummer, in the same general area as the cafeteria.

A witness saw the deer acting erratically just before hitting the window, zig-zagging on the grass on a picnic area outside.
