William Mark Felt Sr., the FBI agent who secretly fed information on the 1972 Watergate scandal to Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, has died at the age of 95.
Felt, dubbed 'Deep Throat' by Woodward and Bernstein, died at his home in Santa Rosa, California, media reports indicate.
His role in the scandal that ended the presidency of Richard Nixon remained secret until three years ago, when Woodward and Bernstein confirmed that an article outing Felt in the magazine Vanity Fair was accurate.
