SooToday.com received the following note tonight from proud mom Elizabeth Edgar-Webkamigad. ************************* Dear SooToday.com: For a period of time now, my family and I have been waiting for tonight.

The time has come for all of the world to witness the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics being hosted in Vancouver. My son Keith and my daughter Kristy are participating in the opening ceremonies tonight.

They are dancing alongside almost 300 other Aboriginal youth from across Canada.

From our area alone we have 12.

Tonight there are many moms, dads, brothers and sisters and extended family members sharing this immense pride that I feel. Our Aboriginal youth participating have been given the honor of representing their nation.

They will do this through dance.

Sacred colors, feathers and dress will be shared with the world.

I know the youth from our area, each one of them do their best to live a good life, role modelling and giving back to their community - our community.

I am bursting with excitement, I am beaming with pride and all I want to do is tell the world. I ask that you post this on your website, it is exciting for the community of Sault Ste. Marie and the Aboriginal people of our area.

Join me in telling Keith, Kristy, Karen, Tausha, Joel, Mariah, Wahsay, Crystal, Tyrone, Amanda, Carson and Meagan how proud we all are of them.

They are on a world stage representing; themselves, their families, their home communities, their Nation and Sault Ste. Marie and area!

They will do us all proud! Those of us who know these youth are smiling in our hearts, waiting to catch a glimpse of them, our sons, our daughters, neices, nephews, grandchildren, big brothers and big sisters.

We are excited to watch you, we miss you and we all will be so excited to welcome you home on Sunday! This ceremony will signal the excitement in all of us, the world will say "let the games begin!" Miigwetch for letting me share my pride and joy!

- Elizabeth Edgar-Webkamigad and the rest of the Webkamigad family!
