SAULT STE. MARIE - The McGuinty government is investing $475,000 to support a Sault Ste. Marie company develop a new construction process that will create long-lasting, low maintenance decks for residential and industrial buildings David Orazietti, MPP announced today.

“This investment is supporting the creation of an innovative process for constructing decks in both residential and industrial environments,” said Orazietti. “With support from our government, evolutionDECK is developing this new technology that will improve their position in the global marketplace, while creating jobs in Sault Ste. ************************** Galvanized steel structures - A smart choice for decking

SAULT STE MARIE - Evolutiondeck Inc., is proud to announce that its flagship product, the evolutionDECK (tm) galvanized steel structure, is now available for residential and commercial deck applications.

This new decking technology was developed in response to consumer demand for a low maintenance long-life decking system that adds value to a home.

“Our customers purchase evolutionDECK structures because they want more than just to build an eco-friendly, long-lasting deck with linear plank boards - they want to create something special," said Joe Severini, vice-president, Evolutiondeck Inc.

Along with an industry-leading 30-year structural warranty and performance features, the new decking technology helps bring their most creative designs to life.

“Decks can be finished with natural stone pavers or tiles in unique, multi-color, eye-catching combinations and patterns. Customers can be confident their investment in their deck appreciates with the value of their home - unlike a traditional deck that deteriorates as an expense.”

The evolutionDECKtm technology, which was invented in Sault Ste. Marie, enables deck structures to be made from 100 percent recycled galvanized steel and are designed to last over 60 years.

Unlike a traditional pressure-treated wood, cedar, or wood-composite structure, the evolutionDECK structure does not require maintenance, and has a zero carbon footprint during its use.

The structure is itself 100 percent recyclable.

New finish choices now include low/no maintenance porcelain tiles, concrete pavers, or natural stone pavers such as granite, travertine or limestone.

Evolutiondeck continues to build momentum in establishing itself as a leader in the decking industry - also offering modular evolutionDECK stair systems as an alternative to concrete or wood stairs.

In the six months since launching the product, Evolutiondeck has strengthened its commitment to the local community, and has secured Sunset Decks and Hickory Dickory Decks as leading distributors in Southern Ontario.

Growth and innovation will continue in 2010 with the launch of a DIY residential kit through local and national retailers.
