He used 1/8-inch steel checker plate in an effort to thwart the mischief-makers.

“So far, so good," Farrell reports.

Meanwhile, City police report that "several mailboxes were reported damaged in the Old Goulais Bay Road, Fourth Line East and Fourth Line West area" over the Labour Day weekend.
