The story is a bit surreal.

Police say Sampson was attending a wedding reception and wisely chose to take a cab home.

But then, he needed to get to work.

That's where the tale turns weird.

Sampson is accused of taking another cab, not to his workplace, but to retrieve his car so he could drive to work himself.

This concerned the cabbie, who noticed that Sampson seemed on the wobbly side.

So police were notified.

Police subsequently located the driver and charged him with impaired driving.
