************************** Two males arrested after stealing vehicle

City Police received a call last night around 12:49 a.m. regarding a 1996 Volvo that had been stolen from a residence on North Street.

At 1:02 a.m., police located and stopped the vehicle on Ohio Drive.

Officers arrested the male driver and one male passenger fled on foot.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Canine unit was deployed and after a short track, the second male was located and arrested in the Cambridge Place area.

The driver arrested was 18-year-old Daniel Murphy of 160 Amber Street, charged with one count of possession of stolen property and one count of breach of a release document.

At the time of the incident, he was on an undertaking release order with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The second male was a 16-year-old male youth.

He was charged with one count of possession of stolen property and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon for purpose dangerous to public.

They are to appear in bail court this morning.
