Customers and staff love Sault's newest clothing store (7 photos)

High quality, super durable active outdoor wear available at new Eddie Bauer store in Station Mall

Eddie Bauer has opened its newest store in Station Mall, specializing in high-quality active outdoor wear for men and women.

“It’s high-quality clothing for the outdoors enthusiast and it’s super comfortable” said Darlene Lundy, Eddie Bauer manager.

Lundy said she and her staff became ‘believers’ in Bauer clothing during the course of their training.

At 4,388 square feet, the Sault’s Eddie Bauer location, which had its grand opening Thursday, has 14 full and part-time employees.

Eddie Bauer clothing is not only high-quality, but durable.

Eddie Bauer clothing items are guaranteed to last, with both staff and customers telling SooToday they have had Bauer clothes which have lasted for years.

“I bought an Eddie Bauer leather parka, down-filled with fur around the hood, and I wore it for 20 years,” said customer Brenda Ostaff.

“We’ve been shopping Eddie Bauer for about 40 years now…wherever we travelled, to Toronto and Ottawa, we’ve shopped Eddie Bauer and now we (she and husband Dennis) are thrilled there’s one in the Sault,” Ostaff said.

“We’re all about enabling people to get outdoors…we definitely pride ourselves in having top-tier products and we’re super excited to be opening a store in your area,” said Jorie Westley, Eddie Bauer publicist, speaking to SooToday from the company’s head office in Seattle Friday.

Tennis enthusiast Eddie Bauer established his first store in Seattle in 1920, and since then the retail chain named after him has grown to a well-known,  well-respected entity with 300 stores in the U.S., 40 stores in Canada, with other stores in Germany, Japan and other international markets.

Westley said the appearance of Eddie Bauer stores have gone from a lodge-type feel to a more modern look in recent years.

The Sault store is one of three newly opened Eddie Bauer locations, the others in Dallas and Edmonton.
