The date for the annual St. Vincent Place Big Blue Food Drive is set.

The one-day, city-wide food drive, which helps fill the food bank shelves for the beginning of winter, will be held on Sept. 30.

Donors can place their donations at their curb by 10 a.m. on the day of the event and volunteers take care of the rest.

St. Vincent Place is also looking for volunteers who can help by spending a few hours to assist in various roles, including driver/runner teams to collect the donations, as well as sorting, packing, and storing the donations once they arrive at St. Vincent Place.

More information about what is involved in volunteering, as well as the time commitment, is available the St. Vincent Place website.

St. Vincent Place is also looking for volunteers to help drop off flyers in mailboxes (in their own neighbourhoods or beyond) between now and the event. It's also a way for high school students who need to earn some volunteer hours.

Anyone interested in volunteering can fill out the corresponding form on the St. Vincent Place website.
