************************* Single motor vehicle collision involving utility pole under investigation

Last evening at 6:47 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended at a single motor vehicle collision that involved a pickup truck that struck a utility pole at the intersection of Great Northern Road and Fifth Line.

It is alleged that a Dodge Ram pickup that was travelling northbound on Great Northern Road left the roadway and struck a utility pole near Fifth Line.

The truck received front complete front-end damage and the pole was severed.

Fire, EMS and the PUC also assisted and attended on scene.

Two persons were in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

Non-life-threatening injuries were reported to the passenger.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid.

Cause

Motor vehicle accident - pole broken in accident.

Description of area involved

Great Northern Road north of Third Line to city limits, Fourth Line to Sixth Line, Old Goulais Bay Road to Connor Road. Power has been restored to all customers.
