************************* Hello: I noticed that all of your Canada Day Celebrations are on July 1.

Clearly you are not aware that the holiday is on July 2 and the federal government has made this clear to all merchants.

Putting your events on the Sunday limits any participation by the poor working class.

I believe this move by the federal government is a direct attack on us the working class and by allowing the Sault events to continue in such a manner you are continuing to discriminate. After all, if Boxing Day falls on a Sunday like it does in 2010, do we then move it to the Monday?

Giving us a holiday Saturday and Monday, making us work the Sunday?

If our City Council thinks it important enough to close Boxing Day then what about our country's birthday? I would love to have this brought up by our City Council in the next meeting.

What needs to be done is to make all three days a holiday ensuring that everyone, not just government employees and the middle class who mostly get Saturday and Sunday off, get long weekends.

For someone who works in retail getting forced to take the Monday means for most employees you have split days off. Please respond I look forward to continuing on this topic. - Raymond Langley, Sault Ste Marie
