************************* Inmate charged with assaulting and threatening correctional officer

Thirty-three-year-old Leslie Mackereth of Alliston Ontario was arrested on the 8th of May at 3:36 p.m. at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre and charged with one count of assaulting a peace officer and one count of threatening death or bodily harm.

It is alleged that on the 8th of May at approximately 1:55 p.m. that the accused, while in custody at the centre, assaulted a corrections officer.

The officer received minor injuries as a result.

The accused is to appear in court on the 28th of June.

************************* Male arrested for threatening

Thirty-two-year-old Joseph Bryze of 640 Shafer Avenue was arrested on the 9th of May at 10:15 p.m. at his residence and charged with two counts of threatening death or bodily harm.

It is alleged that on the 8th of May, the accused threatened two persons known to him.

He is to appear in court on the 14th of June.

************************* Shoplifting arrest

Twenty-six-year-old William McDonald of 101 Churchill Ave (upstairs) was arrested on the 9th of March at 2:50 p.m. and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 9th of May at 2:40 p.m., the accused attended at Metro on Northern Avenue and stole some groceries.

He was also on probation at the time with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

He is to appear in court on the 14th of June.
