************************** Michigan Fraternal Order of Police endorses Gary McDowell for Congress

Today the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) announced its endorsement of Gary McDowell for the 1st Congressional District.

“Gary McDowell has been a good friend of the FOP and a strong supporter of law enforcement his entire career,” said Judd Price, president of the 11,000-member organization. “Gary knows what it takes to keep the people of Michigan safe and his support of the federal stimulus helped put more cops back on the street.”

“During his tenure in the Michigan House, Gary has always made law enforcement and public safety a priority” said FOP National Vice President Dave Hiller. “Gary’s unwavering support of law enforcement earned him our endorsement.”

“I appreciate the support of the Fraternal Order of Police and their many members across Northern Michigan,” McDowell said. “Keeping our communities safe has always been a top priority for me and I would be honored to continue that commitment in Congress.”

The Fraternal Order of Police is Michigan’s oldest and largest law enforcement organization. It is part of a national organization with more than 320,000 members.
