Constable David Doucette testified Tuesday that a belligerent Jeanette Niganobe asked him at Sault Area Hospital: "What time did I kill your friend?"

Doucette said that he replied by telling Niganobe she shouldn't be talking to him - she should be talking to her lawyer.

Niganobe is being tried in Sudbury on charges of impaired driving and dangerous driving causing the death of Constable Don Doucet (no relation to Doucette) in a May 14, 2006 crash at McNabb Street and Black Road.

Doucette said that Niganobe was shouting as he read her rights, then insisting she couldn't hear what he was saying.

Doucette testified that he was riding in the ambulance with Niganobe when she told him that "the pigs [police] hit me," conceding that she had run a red light.

Later, she also told him she'd run a yellow light, he said. The trial continues tomorrow in Sudbury.
