Cop charged in Blind River domestic case

ORILLIA, ON - The Ontario Provincial Police professional standards bureau has charged an OPP officer following an investigation into criminal harassment.

As a result of receiving information, the OPP professional standards bureau launched a criminal investigation into domestic-related criminal harassment.

As a result of the investigation, an officer stationed in North East Region has been charged with Criminal Harassment, contrary to the Criminal Code. The male officer, a 20-year member of the OPP, will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on October 7.

As this is a domestic-related incident the OPP does not release the name of the charged person to protect the privacy of victims of domestic violence.
