**************************** Single motor vehicle collision sends one male to hospital

Saved by the use of his seat belt

GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION - OPP were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 East near Syrette Lake Road yesterday evening at 7:40 p.m.

The 27-year-old male driver lost control of the SUV he was driving hitting the north shoulder of the roadway, crossing the highway then rolling over several times.

The driver was transported to Sault Area Hospital by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle was demolished.

No charges have been laid.

Had the driver not been wearing his seat belt, the outcome would have been much more tragic.
