On Jan. 4, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 37-year-old Nicholas Wonch of Puddingstone Road, Desbarats for an impaired driving related offence.
Just before 6 p.m., the accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision on Second Line East. It is alleged that at that time, the accused was under the influence of alcohol. Officers arrived and administered a test from a roadside screening device at the scene. The accused registered a fail on the device and was taken into custody.
He has been charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit. He will appear in court on Feb. 4, 2019.
