Collision results in impaired charge

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 35 year-old Glen West of 379 Lake Street on the 14th of October at 2:30 am on Lake Street and charged him with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit.

It is alleged that on the 14th of October at approximately 2:26 a.m. the accused was driving a 1999 GMC pickup truck northbound on Lake Street and struck a vehicle from behind that was stopped for the red light at the intersection of Lake Street and Trunk Road.

Officers attended on scene and discovered the accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and he was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and consuming over the legal limit.

He is to appear in court on the 14th of November. No injuries were reported in the collision.
