SAULT STE. MARIE, MI – (January 25) - In accordance with 33 CFR 165.901, the captain of the Port of Sault Ste. Marie will close the waters between St. Ignace and Mackinac Island, effective 9 a.m. on January 28, 2008.

The Coast Guard would like to remind all recreational ice users to plan their activities carefully, use caution on the ice, and stay away from shipping channels.
