City Hall has given us one more reason to love the wildly popular Clergue Park Skating Trail.

Starting this weekend, the full menu of crispy-yet-chewy BeaverTails pastries will be be available from an on-site BeaverTails trailer, along with poutine, hot chocolate and coffee.

BeaverTail hours of operation, subject to weather and appetites, are:

  • Friday, Jan. 10 from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 11 from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 12 from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.

If the initiative catches on with Saultites, the trailer will remain through the outdoor rink skating season.

BeaverTails were introduced to Sault Ste. Marie last summer from a city-owned waterfront kiosk at Roberta Bondar Tent Pavilion.

The fried-dough delicacies are a big hit along the Rideau Canal Skateway in Ottawa, where BeaverTails is rated #1 among TripAdvisor's 193 favourite quick bites in that city.

For future updates and operating hours here in the Sault, check the BeaverTails Sault Ste. Marie Facebook page.
