Investigators from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are trying to connect the dots on a tangled web of weekend occurrences that they believe to be related.

Around 5 a.m. Saturday, they received a call from a resident of Garden River Road that an ATV was in a neighbour's driveway when the neighbour was known to be away.

Then, another call came in, indicating that two males were smoking in the backyard of the same residence. When officers arrived, the two guys took off.

While pursuing them, police found two bikes and a three-wheeler that had apparently been moved.

Then, as a police dog joined the chase, police heard a motorcycle fire up and saw two males flying down the road toward Black Road.

The KTM motorbike raced down the Second Line extension east of Black Road toward Manitou Park, where it crashed on the gravel road. Investigators determined that the motorcycle had been stolen the night before from Ontario Avenue.

They located one accused, a young person who cannot be named in media reports, in the Lock City Dairies area, n a home owned by Roy Graham Trucking Ltd.

That suspect has been charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property.

Next, around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, police received a call from a P-patch resident indicating that someone had broken into his home.

That culprit, when discovered, ran into the street, begging that the police not be called because he didn't want to go back to jail again.

This second suspect was located with the help of a police tracking dog, and was charged with break and enter and breach of probation.

Police believe all these crimes are interconnected and they are working to unravel it all.
