City police to recognize some of their own

On Friday May, 16, 2014 the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Annual Police Exemplary Service Awards Luncheon will take place.

This year the following persons will be recognized by Chief Robert D. Davies and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Board.

The following staff members are being recognized for their years of service:

  • Deputy Chief Kates-40 Year Medal
  • Inspector Steve Davey-30-Year Bar
  • Inspector Steve Train-30 Year Bar
  • Staff Sergeant Ken Hruska-30 Year Bar
  • Constable David Lapish-30 Year Bar
  • Constable Ron Wright-30 Year Bar
  • Sergeant Kevin Dukes-20 Year Medal
  • Constable Dean Gallagher-20 Year Medal
  • Constable Denise Hugli-20 Year Medal
  • Constable Jason Rains-20 Year Medal
  • Civilian Recognition-Lisa Hodgson-25 Years

In addition Chief Davies will be presenting the following officers with a Chief’s Coin

  • Sergeant David Sguigna is being recognized for an off duty arrest of an impaired driver
  • Constable Barry Kelly from the Ontario Provincial Police is being recognized for his involvement in an off duty arrest of a male shoplifter

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Board would like to thank these members for their hard work and dedication.
